Sponsor the Career Fair

Unlike a job fair, the Career Fair is all about exposure. This unique event brings together students from multiple Chicago high schools and Career Representatives from as many as twenty-five different industries showcasing the multitudes of different professions within these industries.

Students begin preparing for the Career Fair several weeks in advance with classroom lessons and practice sessions. During the Career Fair students are paired with guest mentors to coach them in real time as they visit career representatives from the various industries of their choices. Each student has their own personal business cards and asks career representatives about the educational and career requirements as well as the day-to-day workings of their field. At the conclusion of the evening, career representatives vote on the students’ skills and interactions. With these votes “America’s Next Top Intern” is crowned.

The AIM High Career Fair broadens our students’ landscape beyond the classroom, offering opportunities to network, practice soft skills, and exposing them to emerging and high potential careers. Early career exposure is a proven tool for social mobility, illustrating the purpose in the pursuit of higher education and leveling the playing field to ensure students have the knowledge and confidence to pursue a wide range of career opportunities.

Sponsoring the AIM High Career Fair does more than offset costs, it exposes under-resourced students to the opportunities regularly experienced by their higher income peers and ensures that AIM High students are well prepared to pursue their educational and career aspirations. It is a statement in support of educational equity and social mobility.
