Honor Roll
The Companies That Care Honor Roll is a national listing that recognizes and celebrates socially responsible employers who are improving lives and communities through outstanding workplace practices and active community involvement.
Benefits
Employers named to the Companies That Care Honor Roll are recognized in the following ways:
- Listing on the Honor Roll on the Companies That Care website
- Invitation to participate in an Honor Roll/Companies That Care events, including a special Companies That Day recognition event
- A press release and social media templates to communicate your achievement internally and externally
Other benefits include the opportunity to network with Honor Roll peers, access to best practices research, and leadership and governance opportunities.
Eligibility and Criteria
All employers, regardless of size, sector, ownership (publicly-held or privately-owned) or profit classification (for-profit or not-for-profit) are eligible and welcome to apply for the Companies That Care Honor Roll.
There is no fee to apply, and applications must be submitted each year for annual recognition. Each application undergoes a rigorous multistep review that includes:
- A two-tier evaluationof the written application by a staff member from Companies That Care and a member of the Honor Roll Independent Review Panel, comprised of seasoned professionals in human resources, community relations, academia and organizational development.
- A media searchfor relevant news about the organization in the past year.
- A telephone interviewto discuss follow-up questions, if needed.
- An analysis of relevant employee attitude survey data.
- A review of the applicant’s website.
All organizations who demonstrate they are working to positively affect education and workforce development/diversity and who consistently practice the Characteristics of Socially Responsible Employers, as confirmed through survey data, will be named to the Honor Roll.
Timeline
Applications are due by December 4 each year. Honor Roll qualifiers will be publicly announced the third Thursday in March on Companies That Care Day. Qualifiers will be confidentially notified one month prior to that date.
