This half-day, interactive workshop helps prepare high school seniors – and interested parents/guardians – for the social, financial and academic realities of college and raises awareness of the many resources available for support.
The Simulation mirrors a year in college at “warp speed.” Students must complete dozens of tasks ranging from registering for classes to finding roommates to time management. Throughout the simulation, they are also asked to respond to “College Curveball” questions that reflecting challenging situations they may encounter.
Following the simulation, students are divided into small groups for the Debrief. Facilitated by college students and young professionals, this conversation highlights key learnings, reviews responses to the curveballs and provides answers to any other questions that participants have.
