Sysmex America, Inc. (SAI), on the Honor Roll for 5 consecutive years, takes significant steps to ensure employees know they play an essential role in the company and are valued. This is reflected in all 10 Characteristics. When the company decided to relocate its operations, employees were involved in several aspects of the move, including the design of an on-site fitness center and cafeteria. SAI’s generous Employee Referral Program encourages employees to assist with talent acquisition. Its top executive regularly hosts skip-level meetings with employees that reinforce the organization’s culture of open communication. SAI has built upon a strong foundation of employee development that already included effective partnerships with American Management Association, Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and a Global Internship Program for colleagues in Japan. It has added a new cross-functional, cross-business unit internship program, a learning program with Japan for US-based employees, broadened the use of its talent review and 360o feedback processes. These additions facilitate deepening SAI’s internal talent pool and identifying future top leaders.
