AIM HIGH MENTORS AND SPONSORS NEEDED
AIM HIGH LOGO SUCCESS OF PROGRAM MEANS MORE STUDENTS WANT TO PARTICIPATE. PLEASE HELP US SERVE THEM

After a fabulous pilot year, three-hundred (300) students from two Chicago schools are now eager to participate in the Center for Companies That Care mentoring program. While the ultimate goal is to match every freshman at Urban Prep and Woodlawn High School with a corporate mentor, participation will be limited by the number of mentors and amount of financial support in place by the start of the 2008-2009 school year.

And, we'd like to expand the program to include a school in which most students speak Spanish as their first language.

Our dreams, and the students dreams, are only limited by YOUR participation.

Sign up to be a mentor, sponsor a student or sponsor an event and change the trajectory of a student's life.

Call 312.661.1010 or email marcikoblenz@companies-that-care.org.
We can share information on the program and/or let you speak with current mentors.

AIM High Ends First Year with a Bang

AIM HIGH LOGO

In June, AIM High celebrated the students' completion of year one of the program.  The year-end recognition event was held at Loyola University in Chicago and brought together mentors and parents to celebrate the students' achievement in becoming one step closer to college success!

At the event, four students delivered their award-winning speeches that described the impact the program has had on them thus far.

The event also included remarks from mentor and sponsor Jamie Curcio of Curcio Webb, LLC and a photo booth photographer to capture memories from the evening.

Congratulations to all 45 students from this year's first AIM High class and a huge thank you to the over 200 mentors and sponsors that support them.
CENTER FOR COMPANIES THAT CARE ANNUAL TRIBUTE DINNER

Our first Annual Dinner, honoring Steve Casey from the MacArthur Foundation, was held on June 18th at the Union League Club of Chicago. Over 100 people enjoyed the "Are You Smarter Than a 9th grader?" game show (and the answer was, no, we were not smarter than a 9th grader), the key note address given by Urban Prep student Israel Durley on what AIM High has meant to him, a silent auction that emptied our pockets and the inspirational words of Steve Casey, our honoree.

Thanks to those who supported our efforts. The students appreciate you.

Those of you who didn't participate will have another opportunity next year!

CAREDAYS08: TERRIFIC TALES
CAREDAYS - no year - logo

Nearly 20 companies participated in this year's CAREDAYS and thus far we have provided over ..... books in xxxx classrooms. And, companies are not all finished collecting.

We found this to be an excellent way for geographically distributed companies to do ONE activity nationwide and thereby create a tremendous espirit de corps. We find the schools, we order the books for you...all you have to do is participate!!!

Here is a picture from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, which created an "event" around delivering the books to Buckner School in Waukegan, Illinois:

LFGSM team at Buckner school"Participating in the Terrific Tales initiative was a rewarding way for us to make a difference in our community and to demonstrate our support of what Companies That Care stands for," said John Popoli, President & CEO of LFGSM.

Plan now to participate next March!
