Companies That Care Leaders Recognized with the First Annual Bonnie Dayan Award
|
|
John Anthony Meza (KPMG LLP) and Brenda Maday (Opto Technology, Inc.) receive First Annual Bonnie Dayan Award
Bonnie Dayan's company, Triangle Printers, has been named to the Companies That Care Honor Roll every year since its inception. Bonnie directed her boundless energy toward encouraging employers (her own company, her customers, and others) to engage in business practices that supported individuals, families and communities.
The Bonnie Dayan Memorial Award is awarded each year to an Honor Roll employee who, like Bonnie did, drives the mission of Center for Companies That Care in their daily business practices. The award recipient:
- Works to make his/her own organization follow the 10 Characteristics of a Company That Cares and ensures his/her organization actively engages in strengthening the local community and provides a positive work environment in which employees thrive.
- Continually raises the bar and further enhances programs and practices for employees and service to communities.
- Encourages other employers to be a Company That Cares by:
- Talking about why an employer should be a Company That Cares,
- Increasing awareness of the 10 Characteristics, and
- Introducing other caring employers to Companies That Care.
Congratulations to John Anthony and Brenda. |

AIM High is on YouTube!
|
|
Center for Companies That Care created the Aim High Education Initiative to ensure that vulnerable, low-income students graduate from high school and college, and are prepared for tomorrow's workplace. For more information on Aim High, click here or go to www.companies-that-care.org/education.
AIM High students are on YouTube! To see the program in action, go to Introduction to AIM High and AIM High Virtual Career Fair.
This past month, Aim High students celebrated CAREDAYS08: Terrific Tales by reading to children at neighboring schools and donating books to their classroom libraries.
Currently we are preparing for our Year End Recognition to take place on June 6, 2008. Here, we will bring mentors, students and families together to celebrate our students' achievements from year one of this unique program.
