Recognition Event
The 2007 Companies That Care Recognition Event was held on May 21st and 22nd. On May 21st a celebratory dinner was shared and Honor Roll plaques were presented.

Poverty Simulation
One of the missions of Center for Companies That Care is to help managers to better understand the needs of their community and the needs of their employees. This year, Company representatives were able to begin to understand the challenges facing low-income families by participating in a poverty simulation.

Education Initiative
The poverty simulation was a wonderful introduction to the Education Initiative launched by Center for Companies That Care. Click here to read more about this initiative. The pilot program involves two Chicago Public School Charter Schools. Students from these schools attended the event and shared their stories with attendees.

Concurrent Educational Sessions
In the afternoon on May 22nd, two concurrent educational sessions were held. The Best Practices Panel shared their knowledge and policies with attendees. The Executive Network session allowed Executives from Honor Roll Companies a chance to get to know each other. These Executives from big and small, for-profit and not-for profit, manufacturing and service companies, found many things in common.
