Upcoming Events

Here is a list of exciting events and opportunities we invite you to put on your calendar. You can click on each item to register on-line for these events.

    April 17: Center for Companies That Care Best Practices Road Show in Philadelphia.

    In this half-day road show, we'll present the Best Practices of the Companies That Care Honor Roll companies. You'll also learn about the 10 Characteristics of Companies That Care, the needs in your community, and how your company can help.

    May 29: 12-1pm CST Virtual Book Club - Chasing Daylight: How My Forthcoming Death Transformed My Life by Eugene O'Kelly, former CEO of KPMG

    We will be joined by Corrine O'Kelly, Gene's wife, who is taking his message forward.

    June 25-29: Earn a Social Responsibility Certificate from Loyola Business School and Center for Companies That Care. The 5-day comprehensive course is entitled Becoming a Socially Responsible Corporation.

    This five day business certificate course is a must for anyone dedicated to being a socially responsible business. The course will cover:

    • understanding sustainability
    • building a work environment that enables individuals to thrive
    • limiting the environmental footprint of the business
    • developing a community involvement strategy

Companies That Care 2007 Honor Roll Announced

On March 15th, we announced our 2007 Honor Roll. We are pleased to welcome 35 companies to the Honor Roll. Each of these companies embraces the 10 Characteristics of Companies That Care. Together our Honor Roll companies employ approximately 274,000 people, are for-profit/not-for-profit, geographically diverse, in a variety of industries and are as pleased as we are to join the list of Honor Roll recipients.

The 2007 Honor Roll is featured with a slide show and article on Fast Company magazine's website!

If you believe your employer is a Company That Cares, consider applying for the Honor Roll. Applications are due November 15, 2007. Watch this monthly email for the announcement of free webinars explaining the application process.

Community of Caring

We encourage you to join the Community of Caring. Becoming a member of the Community of Caring not only entitles you to many benefits, but, more importantly, by becoming a member you declare your interest in, and commitment to, making our world a better place to live. The investment is minimal, your vote for caring will be HUGE! Please join our Honor Roll Companies as members of the Community.

Community of Caring Benefits

  • Participate in collaborative community building initiatives with other members
  • Attend Companies That Care educational programs (Road Shows, Bi-Annual Symposium, Stepping Stones Seminars, etc.) for a discounted registration fee
  • Participate in mentoring programs for a discount
  • Select topics for and attend 1st Monday virtual lunch 'n learns -- free
  • Participate in the Virtual Book Club -- free
  • Purchase tools (surveys, starter kits, etc.) at a discount
  • Receive advance notice of all educational and community building programs with limited participation
  • Submit nominations (including self-nominations) for Companies That Care committees and Board of Directors
  • Receive a CARE pin and a Community of Caring seal for your website and collateral materials
  • Participate in the Community of Caring listserv and consult/collaborate with other Community of Caring members

CAREDAYS07 - It's not too late to participate!!

We are in the middle of Companies That Care CAREDAYS, our annual philanthropic initiative to engage individuals and employers in collaboratively addressing a significant issue undermining the well-being of our society. It's Your Life! is this year's intiative. We are hoping that you and your organization will join us.

  • You can Choose to Live by improving the the quality and length of your life by following activities on our It's Your Life! calendar.
  • You can Choose to Give by raising money to help support community health clinics

CAREDAYS07 runs from March 15-April 15. But the ideas and activities in our CAREDAYS calendar are not timebound.
